Sie Weiss Alles Acclaimed writer and actor James Cairns presents the Cape Town première of his latest play, Sie Weiss Alles, at Kalk Bay Theatre from 9 May until 2 June. Winner of a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award at the 2011 National Arts Festival, the play received universal praise, such as 'an excellently acted drama' (Cue), and features Cairns and Taryn Bennett under the direction of Tamara Guhrs. It is Berlin, 1945. The Third Reich has collapsed: the Russians are hours away. The thoughts of the remaining SS personnel are on survival, escape and survival. An SS logistics officer's orders are to question a young woman. Who is she? Someone who just wants to stay alive. But then so does he, and so does his commanding officer. The woman and the officer have a history. Does she know how to get out of Berlin safely and will she tell him if she does? Does she want to save a Nazi? Is he a Nazi? What will persuade her to tell him if she does know how to escape? Sie Weiss Alles |
